Grinding or clicking noises from the cabinet- Unusual noises are rarely good signs. This could be a capacitor about to fail or a motor that will soon burn out.
Ice buildup on coils- This could be due to a refrigerant leak or the coil has become too dirty to allow easy heat absorption.
The heat pump remains stuck in one mode- If your heat pump will not cool or will not heat, then the issue is probably from the reversing valve.
Frequent cycling – Heat pumps shouldn’t turn on and off frequently. This may indicate the unit is dirty or has a broken thermostat.
If you notice any of these warning signs, Call Bay Area Mechanical at 410-636-6400 today! Our highly skilled technicians will evaluate the heat pump and diagnose what is wrong. We will make the necessary recommendations for repair or replacement to help restore your comfort as quickly as possible.
